Eastern Michigan Eagles: Scoring has been a big problem for EMU (6-3 straight-up, 3-3 against the spread) after being held under 50 points for a third consecutive game in last Saturday's 74-48 setback at Illinois-Chicago. The Eagles rank 328th in the nation averaging 57.2 points per game, and they are shooting less than 39 percent from the field. Eastern Michigan closed as a 9-point underdog for its second pointspread defeat in three trips to the floor and is winless in its three road contests (1-2 ATS).

Michigan Wolverines: This will be the next-to-last game before the Big Ten schedule begins for the Wolverines (11-0 SU, 7-3 ATS). The Maize and Blue continued their best start since their 1988-89 national title season with an 81-66 victory vs. West Virginia at Brooklyn's Barclay Center last Saturday, covering the 10-point spread and snapping a three-game run for the "under" in the process. That was good enough to lift Michigan to No. 2 in the nation behind Duke when the new polls came out on Monday.

UC-Irvine Anteaters at Southern Cal Trojans

UC-Irvine Anteaters: Their rally falling short at home Tuesday night vs. LSU, the Anteaters (5-7 SU, 4-6 ATS) travel to LA to meet the Trojans before taking a nine-day break. Irvine's season got off to a 3-1 start, with the only loss in overtime at UCLA, but six defeats in their last eight games have derailed a promising beginning. Only one player, Daman Starring (12.5 ppg), is scoring in double figures, but the squad has been scrappy on the glass, where UCI ranks fourth in the country averaging 45 boards per contest.

USC Trojans: A five-game losing streak came to an end for Southern Cal (4-6 SU, 3-5-1 ATS) last Saturday with a lopsided 70-26 victory over UC Riverside. The mismatch was as much the result of the Highlanders' impotent offense (11-of-58 from field) as it was the Trojans' defense. USC has also struggled on the offensive end this season with the 70 points vs. UC Riverside the highest output since scoring 87 in the season opener vs. Coppin State. Eric Wise and J.T. Terrell lead the Trojans, averaging 10.7 ppg apiece.
