There are few traditions as old, as respected, as anticipated, and as sacred as Thanksgiving Day football. Every year, before, during, and after dinner, families gather in the living room around the television, loosen their belt straps and enjoy some good games on the gridiron.
This unusual year, we have two NCAA and two NFL outings to enjoy. Wednesday morning, the Ravens/Steelers matchup was moved to Sunday due to Covid-19 and safety protocols. If you’re like me, you love a little pumpkin pie, or maybe some leftovers, and winning your Turkey Day bets. I have a 2-teamer for you to have fun with and make some well-needed holiday cash.
Colorado State at Air Force. The Falcons are a 5.5-pt fav with a total of 55 at 11:00 am pst, 2:00 pm est.
This matchup is sure to make for a Happy Thanksgiving for all. Following a few distractions, head coach, Troy Calhoun has his Falcons back on track. Dual-threat play-caller, Haaziq Daniels has immensely progressed and is certainly the quarterback of the future. The No. 1 ground attack in the country (336.5 yards per game on the ground) possesses six ballcarriers each past the century mark in rushing. They do face a solid run defense here of the Rams, but will no doubt own the time of possession, keep the CSU D on the field, and wear them down.
Colorado State has had a difficult time putting points on the board (92nd, 24.0 PPG). Granted they’ve played some tough defenses, but things won’t get any easier here as they line up against college football’s 14th ranked stop-unit (18.3 PPG allowed). This doesn’t bode well as the team has already turned the ball over 15 times.
The Falcons are 5-2 ATS the last seven at home and 7-3 ATS the last 10 as a favorite. Take Air Force.
Washington Football Team at Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys are a 3-pt fav with a total of 46 at 1:30 pm pst, 4:30 pm est.
Believe it or not, the winner of this game will take the top spot in the NFC East. Dallas has become so reliant on the pass and now must face the NFL’s No.1 pass defense here. On the flip side, Alex Smith is beginning to get into a groove. He is smart, experienced, and capable. Any team can put points up on the league’s worst defense (31.8 PPG allowed).
These two teams met on October 25, when the WFT shut down the Cowboys with Dalton under center. WFT is 9-4 ATS L13 at Dallas, 5-2 ATS L7 following a SU win, and 5-1 ATS L6 in Week 12. Dallas is 1-7 ATS L8 vs. the NFC, 1-4 ATS L5 at home, and 2-8 ATS L10 overall. Take WFT.
