Betting expert Joe D’Amico advises bettors on what they should look out for when wagering on sports during the coronavirus restrictions…
It goes without question that all of us sports bettors, handicappers, and columnists must all do our due diligence when it comes to researching games. I think we would all agree there is little about 2020 that has been normal.
That certainly carries over into sports and sports betting. All seasons started late. The MLB, NBA, and NHL have all come and gone with shortened campaigns as they all had to deal with health issues and all that goes with it.

There was no NFL preseason and several pro football players and coaches have been hit with having to miss games. College football was also hit with all these issues. Very few or even no fans in the stands affect each game.
The precautions surrounding the current health crisis is put in place to protect everyone. We should always check injury reports but in the current situation, it has become even more important. We've had dozens of games postponed and even cancelled.
Breaking news Wednesday, October 28, the latest contest that has been cancelled is in the newly started, Big Ten. Saturday’s Nebraska-Wisconsin game has officially been cancelled as the Badgers struggle with a COVID-19 outbreak. It will not be made up.
The game will not factor into the standings either. The Big Ten announced this afternoon that it will officially consider the matchup a no-contest. Neither team will pick up a win or loss. Both Wisconsin and Nebraska will be one game short in the final regular-season standings since this game will not be rescheduled.
Over the last five days, 12 members of the Wisconsin football program, including head coach Paul Chryst and quarterback Graham Mertz, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Wisconsin's next game is November 7 at home against Purdue. Because of the Big Ten's condensed, conference-only schedule with zero open weeks, there is no flexibility if games cannot be played.
