Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers (4-3 straight-up, 3-4 against the spread) are a tough matchup for the Giants as they can match the physical play and have a quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger with the same big play capability as Eli Manning. Pittsburgh has won and covered the spread the last two games at Cincinnati (24-17) and home vs. Washington (27-12). Cincy was the first road cover for Mike Tomlin’s team in the last eight games and the first "under" in the last five away. Running back Jonathan Dwyer (questionable, groin) has gone over the 100-yard mark the last two weeks, providing good balance for the passing game, and the Giants are surprisingly allowing a big 138.5 YPG rushing at home. However, Roethlisberger (101.4 QB rating, ranked fifth) will still need a big game to win.
New York Giants: The Giants (6-2 SU, 4-3-1 ATS) continued to prove they’re road warriors with a 29-24 win at Dallas last week as 1 ½-point favorites. They’ve now won four straight (3-1 ATS) and lead the rest of the NFC East by 2.5 games. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been playing through a foot injury and has averaged just 3.6 yards per carry the last two games. That puts more pressure on the normally unflappable Manning, who has three picks over that span. New York could be without both starting safeties on Sunday with Kenny Phillips (knee) and Antrel Rolle (concussion) questionable (click to check updated NFL injury report). These interconference squads last met in 2008 with New York 3-0 ATS (2-1 SU) in the last three.
