Alabama Crimson Tide: The train just keeps on rolling for 'Bama (8-0 straight-up, 5-3 against the spread) who looks to avenge its only loss of 2011 with this trip to Baton Rouge.  Nick Saban & Co. reeled off their 12th consecutive win by steamrolling Mississippi State last week, 38-7.  It marked the first loss of the year for the Bulldogs who went into the contest as 21½-point underdogs despite being unbeaten at the time.  AJ McCarron was a very businesslike 16-of-23 with two TD passes before sitting out the fourth quarter with a bruised back.  He is expected to start Saturday against the Tigers, who will be facing the No. 1 defense in the country.  Alabama's defense ranks first in scoring (8.1 ppg), total yards allowed (203.1), rushing yards (57.3 ypg) and opposing QB rating (86.6).  The "over" has cashed the last three Crimson Tide games and stands 5-3 on the season, but it's the "under" that has prevailed in their last two meetings with LSU.

LSU Tigers: Les Miles and the Tigers (7-1 SU, 3-5 ATS) enjoyed last week off following a tough roadie at Texas A&M on Oct. 20.  Saturday's tilt also begins a 3-game homestand for LSU who has Mississippi State and Ole Miss coming into Tiger Stadium the next two weeks.  Louisiana State rallied from an early 12-0 hole at A&M two weeks ago, and frustrated Aggies electric redshirt freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel into throwing three picks in the victory.  The Tigers closed as 4-point favorites in that contest, just getting the cover to snap a 4-game skid against the college football odds.  There have been some off-the-field distractions during the last week as four former players were arrested for drug possession, including last year's stars Jordan Jefferson and Tyrann Mathieu, but Miles insists they have not impacted his team's preparations for this game. Two years ago when these teams met in Baton Rouge, LSU posted a 24-21 win as a 7-point home 'dog, but the Tigers are just 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings with 'Bama on this field.
