Kent State Golden Flashes:  Darrell Hazell brings Kent State (1-1 straight up and against the spread) into its MAC opener off a whipping at the hands of Kentucky last week that saw the Wildcats negate an early 7-0 deficit and roll to the 47-14 victory.  The Flashes suffered several big-play lapses on defense with four of UK's six touchdowns coming on plays of 26 yards or more.  KSU ranks in the lower third of the country in total defense (427.5 ypg) and will now face a Buffalo offense that is 39th in total offense averaging nearly 460 yards per game.  The Golden Flashes are meeting the Bulls for the first time in three seasons and won their last trip to Buffalo in 2008 as 10-point underdogs.

Buffalo Bulls: The Bulls (1-1 SU & ATS) were popped at Georgia in their season opener before rebounding with a 56-34 win vs. Morgan State a little more than a week ago.  Buffalo fell short of covering the 31½-point line against the Bears after easily beating the big 37½ points college football oddsmakers were giving them in the 45-23 loss to the Bulldogs.  Brandon Oliver had a huge day on the ground for the Bulls in the win vs. Morgan State, rushing for nearly 240 yards on 25 totes.  That followed 111 yards against Georgia, and the Bulls enter this game 17th in the land with over 250 yards on the ground per game.  Their defense has struggled keeping the opposition off the scoreboard, however, with Buffalo opponents putting up close to 40 points per game.  The Bulls have won five of the last seven meetings with Kent State, and covered five of the last eight along with a 'push.'
