The post-Thanksgiving week begins with Don Best sports analysts Brian Blessing (@BrianBlessing) and Todd Fuhrman (@ToddFuhrman) in the Don Best war room with a look at upcoming football action that has seen some movement on the betting front.
This late in the gridiron season, the numbers have stayed fairly quiet so far, as Fuhrman points out. Still, even half-point moves can have a big effect, especially when it's from 2½-3 or 6½-7.
Rutgers is involved in one of those games, opening as 2½-point chalk before moving to -3 vs. Louisville (click to check updated college football odds).
"What team played worse on Saturday?" Fuhrman asks. "Louisville was awful against Connecticut as a double-digit favorite. Rutgers didn't even show up at Heinz Field against Pittsburgh. These two teams are taking on water at the exact wrong time."
Oklahoma opened -7 on the road at TCU, but dropped to -6½ in early trading at the college football betting window. The Horned Frogs are coming off an impressive win at Texas, and OU could come in a little flat after the big overtime win over Oklahoma State.
The ACC title game finds Florida State taking on Georgia Tech, and the Seminoles have been pushed up to -14 after starting a point lower. Blessing points out that the Yellow Jackets' loss to Georgia last week meant nothing to Georgia Tech who was already looking ahead to the conference championship. FSU also comes in off a decisive loss to Florida.
Moving to the NFL, a team that has confounded Brian Blessing all year long is Cincinnati, and the Bengals are now 1½-point road favorites after beginning as 1-point underdogs to San Diego (click to check updated NFL odds). Norv Turner is definitely on his way out for the Chargers, and Fuhrman thinks it's time for a change.
