Florida State Seminoles: Jimbo Fisher and the 'Noles (8-1 straight-up, 4-5 against the spread) can all but lock up the ACC Atlantic Division with a win a Blacksburg on Thursday. They've had some extra time to prepare for this big road game after blasting Duke in Week 9 at home, 48-7, a game in which FSU built an insurmountable 31-0 lead less than four minutes into the second quarter. Devonta Freeman rushed for more than 100 yards filling in for Chris Thompson, who was lost for the season with a knee injury a week earlier (click to check latest college football injury report). All three of Florida State's road games this season have finished below the total, and the Seminoles have yet to cover the spread away from Tallahassee. This is just the third regular season meeting between the schools since Va Tech joined the ACC while they have also met twice for the conference championship.

Virginia Tech Hokies: A favorite in the ACC to begin the season, Virginia Tech (4-5 SU, 2-7 ATS) now needs to win its final three games just to get six victories over FBS schools and become bowl eligible. The Hokies suffered their fourth loss in five games, both SU and ATS, in a 30-12 setback at Miami (FL) last Thursday when they were laying 1½-points on the road. Va Tech ruled the boxscore with a 421-347 yardage edge on offense and a nearly nine-minute advantage in time of possession but could not overcome three turnovers that ultimately spelled defeat. Junior quarterback Logan Thomas and the rest of the offense have their work cut out for them against the nation's No. 1 ranked defense as FSU is allowing just over 227 yards per game. All four meetings as conference opponents have finished above the total, including the 2010 ACC Championship that went to Va Tech by a 44-33 count.
