Los Angeles Clippers: The Clippers (8-2 straight-up and against the spread) are the hottest team in the NBA with six straight wins that have also rewarded their backers each time. They have played outstanding defense during the winning streak, holding opponents to 86.2 points per game with the “under” going 5-1. LA is coming off a 92-87 victory at San Antonio on Monday behind 19 points and eight assists from point guard Chris Paul while power forward Blake Griffin scored 16 and grabbed 12 rebounds. The Clips have beaten the Spurs twice during their current run, and they have won by an average of 13.5 points during that six-game stretch. Los Angeles has also won three of the last four meetings with Oklahoma City with a 5-1 ATS mark in the past six games between the teams.
Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder (8-3 SU, 6-4-1 ATS) is 7-1 in their last eight games with the lone loss coming at home against Memphis on Nov. 14 (107-97). Of those seven wins though, only one has come against a team with a winning record, as Oklahoma City defeated Golden State (6-5) on Sunday, 119-109. Five of the wins came against Central Division teams that have combined to go 9-22. Kevin Durant registered his first career triple-double in the team’s latest victory against the Warriors with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists while Russell Westbrook scored a game-high 30 and Kevin Martin added 23 off the bench. The home team has held a rebounding edge in six of the last seven meetings between the Thunder and Clippers, and that has led to the host going 6-1 in those games (5-2 ATS).
